Next Generation Literacy: Shifting Our Practice to Support All Learners -

In this UFT Teacher Center two hour Literacy workshop, participants will consider what’s new and different in the Next Generation Learning Standards (NGLS). We will examine the shifts needed to ensure that our curriculum and instruction are NGLS-aligned. Participants will create NGLS-aligned tasks that meet the needs of our diverse learners using authentic, culturally-relevant texts.

Teaching From the Heart: Creating a Conscious Learning Community -

How do teachers develop classroom culture and community with their students? In this UFT Teacher Center interactive session for new teachers, participants will explore strategies, practices and tools for creating safe and inclusive learning environments which foster success for all learners.
